Child Safety Policy

A safe place to learn, built for under-15s

Every child on TeachIn learns in an age-appropriate, monitored and parent-connected environment. Here is exactly how we keep young learners safe.

🎭
Age-gated content
Everything a learner under 15 can see, search, watch or play is filtered to be age-appropriate and educational.
👥
Parental consent
A parent or guardian email is required to create a child account, and parents stay connected through the Institutions space.
🔒
Protected messaging
No stranger can message a child without approval. Only verified educators and approved friends can connect.

Our commitments

Last updated: July 2026

1

Age-appropriate by default

Student accounts are designed for learners up to 15 years. Search results, the learning feed, reels, classrooms and AI explanations are all filtered so children only encounter safe, educational material.

2

Verified educators only

Teachers are identity-verified and carry an EDGE grade before they can host classrooms or contact students. Anyone can be reported, and repeat concerns lead to removal.

3

Parental oversight

Parents can review their child's classes, messages and activity, approve friend requests, and manage what their child can access — all through the connected parent tools.

4

No ads targeting children & data protection

We do not show behavioural ads to children and we minimise the data we collect from young learners, in line with child-data-protection best practices.

5

Report & respond, fast

Every post, message and classroom has a report option. Our safety team reviews reports promptly and takes action on anything that puts a child at risk.
